Feeding my Poodle Carrots for the First Time Ever

My poodle is no stranger to `carrots`. As a puppy, I got my poodle has a toy carrot rope. She liked to chew on this toy. Her carrot toy is a cotton chew rope that I got her to chew on so that she could clean as teeth as she chews. You can click here to check out this toy carrot rope out on Amazon.

When I saw her chew on this carrot toy, I started to wonder if I could share my real human food carrots with my poodle. After a lot of research, I was convinced that carrots are safe for poodles.

Also, I learned that although it is fine for poodles to eat raw carrots, one should slight steam carrots before one feeds them to poodles for poodles to get the most health benefit out of carrots.

So the next time I went vegetable shopping I got some carrots for me and for my poodle.

First, I washed the carrots, then I cut the carrots into tiny bite-size pieces. Then I steamed the carrot pieces for about 10 minutes. Then, I let the carrots cool down, then I serve the carrots to my poodle on a plate.

My poodle started eating the carrots slowly and cautiously because she was eating carrots for the first time. After feeling the good taste of the carrots, she started devouring the carrots.
